Ollie Pentz
Hello dudes as I’m sure you probably saw on the homepage my name’s Ollie and I’m president for this year! I have previous experience as Vice-President and Freshers rep on committee and have been on the committees of the Men’s’ football team, The Revue, and Choir. I am currently intercalating in Neuroscience at Sussex.
The Presidents role is essentially overseeing all other committee members roles, offering advice, running MedSoc meetings, and representing MedSoc at meetings with the medschool. Yes that’s right, the only thing flashy about it is the title.
What would be your dream job if you weren’t doing medicine?
Between the time the revue and MedSoc take up, I’m not really doing medicine at the moment. So my dream job would be to have enough time to actually do medicine.
What is your best memory of BSMS?
Representing BSMS at the National MedSoc Conference in Birmingham last year. It’s the only time in my life I have ever been surrounded by people who have at least a marginally positive opinion on MedSoc.
What’s your favourite thing about BSMS?
There are many things that makes BSMS great. One in particular is that the B in BSMS can be substituted for the B emoji. I like how there are loads of great societies >>>>>especially the revue and choir<<<<<<< and you spend a lot of time with older years. Also the fact that the year group is so small means gossip spreads like wildfire, it’s great.
